Australia’s first soil carbon farming income calculator

Carbon Sync, a Western Australian soil carbon farming project developer, has launched Australia's first free online carbon credit calculator designed specifically for soil carbon projects. This innovative tool allows farmers to estimate potential carbon credit earnings and associated income, promoting transparency and informed decision-making in the growing carbon farming sector.

The user-friendly calculator, available on Carbon Sync's website, is accessible to farmers of all technical levels. By inputting arable land mass, estimated annual soil organic carbon increase, and projected ACCU price increases, farmers can instantly receive a summary of projected carbon credits and potential income.

"Our calculator demystifies the complexities of carbon credit estimation," said Louise Edmonds, Founder and CEO of Carbon Sync. "It empowers farmers to make informed choices about participating in soil carbon projects."

Farmers can easily input their farm's arable hectares and view potential carbon credit earnings and their estimated value in AUD. The calculator uses a conservative default sequestration rate, but farmers can adjust this and other values to explore different scenarios.

This initiative aligns with Carbon Sync's commitment to supporting farmers in transitioning to sustainable land management practices. By offering this free tool, Carbon Sync aims to encourage wider adoption of soil carbon farming techniques, benefiting both the environment and agricultural profitability.

Previously, the complexity of soil carbon farming and its financial potential could be overwhelming. While paid feasibility reports are available, this free calculator allows farmers to model various scenarios and understand the potential benefits.

Key Features:

  • Free and easy to use: No cost or technical expertise required.

  • Instant results: Immediate estimations of carbon credit earnings and potential income.

  • Customisable inputs: Farmers can adjust inputs based on their estimated carbon sequestration rates and ACCU prices.
