Carl grew up as the son of a dairy (later sheep) farmer in New Zealand and has had agriculture in his blood all his life. After the family farm was sold, he moved into farm management, learning the nuances and tools of farming sheep, beef and deer over many years. After taking some advice from a careers adviser, whose testing revealed his people skills would make him an excellent salesperson, Carl moved into agricultural sales, working for a number of companies, including Fibre Fresh, who invited him to set up their Western Australian sales operations in 2019.

Carl then moved into equine product sales before he landed his current role with Carbon Sync in late 2023. Carl is passionate about farmers getting the best out of their land and sees Carbon Sync’s vision to transform agriculture as a positive step for Australian farming.
